MODERN DAY SLAVERY POLICY
1. Introduction
The Republic of Munchery Ltd is committed to ethical business practices and ensuring that modern slavery and human trafficking do not occur in our business or supply chains. We recognise our responsibility to take a robust approach to combating slavery and human trafficking and are dedicated to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships.
2. Our Business
Republic of Munchery Ltd is a UK-based manufacturer of pet food products. We source ingredients from various suppliers and operate a manufacturing and distribution network within the UK.
3. Our Commitment
We are committed to:
● Implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery is not taking place anywhere in our own business or in our supply chains.
● Ensuring transparency and integrity in our approach to tackling modern slavery.
● Taking a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking.
● Communicating our expectations to our suppliers and business partners.
● Encouraging the reporting of concerns and protecting whistleblowers.
4. Due Diligence Processes
As part of our efforts to identify and mitigate risk, we will:
● Conduct risk assessments of our supply chains to identify potential areas of risk related to modern slavery.
● Implement supplier due diligence procedures, including assessing suppliers' policies and practices related to modern slavery.
● Include contractual clauses in our agreements with suppliers that prohibit the use of forced, bonded, or involuntary labour.
● Regularly review and update our policies and procedures to ensure they remain effective.
5. Reporting Concerns
We encourage all employees, suppliers, and business partners to report any concerns about potential instances of modern slavery. Reports can be made to Neil Westwood, Operations Director neil@wilsonspetfood.co.uk. All reports will be treated confidentially and investigated thoroughly.
6. Training
We will provide training to our employees to raise awareness of modern slavery and human trafficking and to ensure they understand their responsibilities in identifying and reporting concerns.
7. Review
This policy will be regularly reviewed and updated to reflect changes in legislation and best practice.
8. Responsibility
The Operations Director, Operations Department is responsible for the implementation and monitoring of this policy.
This policy is made in accordance with section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. 5 September 2024
