Puppies do have some specific nutritional needs that differ slightly from adult dogs though, so you may want to have a chat with your vet about any supplements that may be good to add to your puppy’s food routine to give them the tailored support they need during this key phase of their growth and development.

Is the Wilsons Fresh range packaging recyclable?
▼Our pouches are made from 4 LDPE (Low-Density Polyethylene) and are recyclable, however not all kerbside collections currently collect this type of plastic.

Where are Wilsons Fresh range recipes produced?
▼We freshly prepare each and every one of our Fresh range recipes at our factory in bonnie Scotland.
I’ve noticed there’s some water in the pouch, should this be the case?
▼Absolutely! 5 Fresh recipes are gently steamed - using a delicious mix of fresh ingredients including premium cuts of meat and wholefoods. Our unique cooking process creates tender meat juices within each pouch which are both highly nutritious and irresistibly delicious for your dog. Simply stir in the tender meat juices before serving up this bowl of superfood-packed, moist goodness to your four-legged friend!
We don’t use anything artificial in our recipes , and unlike many other dog foods on the market we’ve purposely not used any binders to try and ‘hide’ water and juices within the recipe. This means that our Fresh recipes are entirely free from anything artificial and free from unnecessary natural binders like Carageenan.
How is the product Fresh if it can be stored in a cupboard?
▼Our fresh recipes are freshly made in our Scottish factory using fresh, quality ingredients like premium cuts of meat and wholefoods. Our clever steaming process means that all the nutrients are locked in place and sealed in until you’re ready to open and feed – all without any artificial preservatives. Once opened, each pouch will deliver all the benefits of a freshly prepared, perfectly balanced meal for your dog that can be safely stored in your fridge for up to 4 days.
If the shelf life of the product is 12 months, how can it be Fresh?
▼Our fresh recipes are freshly made in our Scottish factory using fresh, quality ingredients like premium cuts of meat and wholefoods. Do Wilsons Fresh recipes contain Carageenan?
▼No. Carageenan is used by many pet food brands in their recipes to artificially bind any water that may be present in the recipes. That’s why other products are often surrounded by a jelly-like coating. Unlike these brands, we don’t add any water to our Fresh recipes, and the tender meat juices found within each pouch are a direct result of our delicious prime cuts of meat and wholefoods being gently steamed together. We’re not trying to hide them - they’re delicious and nutritious and deserve a moment in the limelight as part of your dog’s delicious dinner! It’s important to note that currently pet manufacturers don’t have to declare use of Carageenan on their product packaging, so it’s worth directly checking if this is used.
Whats the difference between Wilsons Fresh and standard wet food?
▼Our Fresh recipes are quite different to traditional wet food - starting with the ingredients. We use prime cuts of meat and fresh wholefoods to create each delicious recipe. The appearance of our food is unlike traditional tinned wet food or wet food in trays - it’s a vibrant and colourful meal that isn’t processed into a brown unidentifiable pate. You can see the individual ingredients as they are meant to be - and we’re not kidding when we say they smell good enough for us humans to eat. We’re not saying we might have been tempted to have a nibble ourselves, but we’re also not not saying that.
What are the ingredients?
