New Year, New Wilsons Team Members

The Wilsons Factory has now reopened after a lovely, relaxing Christmas and New Year holiday.

We're also pleased to welcome 3 new humans (and their dogs!) to our team. They tell us more about themselves and what they do at Wilsons...

Teresa, Accounts Manager

I'm the Accounts Manager at Wilsons Pet Food, which means I look after allfinancial matters including payments for ingredients, utilities, stockist orders and most importantly paying the team's wages.

After my previous role at a ready meal manufacturer was made redundant earlier this year, I was offered this role at Wilsons in Scotland. I have always loved holidaying in Scotland so we thought "Why not!" and we have absolutely loved this move.

I've loved my new job here so far. It's been great meeting the Wilsons team and being part of the set up of our new factory (more to come on that soon!) and learning all about the fantastic dog food we create here - I absolutely love the product which is why I'm here!

I currently have an American Mastiff called Tudor, an 8 year old, 90kg, slobbery lump. We've always rescued Mastiff's and have always been the proud parents of Neapolitan Mastiffs, Bull Mastiffs and even a Welsh Mastiff - it's it slobbers, we'll rehome it!

Tasha, Customer Services Representative

I've joined the team as a Customer Service Representative at Wilsons whichmeans I am the direct point of contact for our customers and stockists for all general enquiries.

Not only do I have several years' experience of working in a pet shop, but I have also previously worked as a baker, a delivery driver and in general customer services so I have a lot of experience working with customers, helping to understand their needs and how to assist them.

I answer a range of questions via telephone or email, anything from chasing an order to what is best for my dogs and even things like "what's wrong with my dog's poop?"! If I don't know the answer to a question, I will dig until I find it - no question (dog food related!) is too strange.

I work closely with all our teams, including our factory team, the marketing and sales teams, our MD Craig, and also all our 3rd party suppliers including couriers.

Wilsons really do put dogs first, and this passion was one of the main things I wanted from a company, so when I saw they were opening a new factory nearby I was excited to apply! With high quality food, biodegradable and recyclable packaging that looks amazing, and being a family-run company, I was really drawn to Wilsons and I'm so pleased to be part of the team.

I love and live for dogs! I grew up with Flat Coated Retrievers and Cairn Terriers (big dogs in little bodies!) and sadly we recently lost both our Cairns at a very old age which has left a huge hole in our hearts - but we're very excited to soon be bringing home our new puppy!

Roland, National Account Manager

I recently joined the Wilsons team to manage our trade side, which means I'm indirect contact with our fantastic array of stockists across the country, including pet shops, groomers and even dog walkers.

2022 marks my 18th year in the pet industry. I started out working in-store at a branch of Jollyes Pet Food Superstore where I was fortunate to meet all our customers face-to-face, and eventually worked my way up to becoming a manager of several stores, helping them to win Store of the Year! I've since worked in a number of head offices for Pets Choice UK, Hills Science Plan and more recently at Forthglade.

It's hard not to notice Wilsons Pet Food - the brand looks fantastic on the shelf and the story of its historic and well-respected Scottish family business is inspiring. Not to mention its range of products, made with top quality ingredients at the cutting edge of pet food nutrition.

So far, my favourite part of the job has been getting to know our stockists. Due to Covid-19 & Brexit they've had to overcome so many obstacles and I've been so impressed at their ability to put pets first in such a difficult climate - we're proud that our products are part of their stores. I've also enjoyed meeting the talented, driven and enthusiastic team at Wilsons - it's great to see how passionate they are.

You may have already guessed, but I'm definitely a big dog person. I've always grown up with pets and recently myself and my girlfriend rescued a 9 month old German Shephard called Lando, who was originally a lockdown puppy who had sadly been neglected. It's taken a little while for him to settle into his new home with us but we're already starting to see how much he's improving and it's a privilege to be part of this transformation.

Lando is also excited about my new role at Wilsons because he's been absolutely loving his Cold Pressed Wild White Fish!
