Stockist Spotlight: K9 Active

As part of our Stockist Spotlight series, we delve deeper into the pet shops who stock Wilsons to find out all about how they started, why they are passionate about pet products and what they sell...

 

K9 Active was founded by husband and wife Keith and Zena back in 2008, recently opening their store in Rosyth in 2018. K9 Active was inspired by their love for their canine companions, being active together, exploring, going outdoors, and enjoying everything natural.

 

It was difficult to source premium products for their own dogs like backpacks and overalls to use on their daily adventures. So, they decided to open their own online shop and stock them themselves so that other canine explorers could have these products too.

Keith and Zena started making their own raw food for their dogs back in 2010, knowing all the health benefits it would have for their furry friends. When other companies started producing raw food, they began buying those brands and eventually started stocking it for their local customers. This progressed into stocking all types of food including raw, wet, dry, and cold pressed, along with 100% natural dog treats.

After meeting Wilsons at PATS in 2019, they were excited to find a brand who were new, different, and local to them in Scotland. They love how Wilsons use human grade meat and are completely hypoallergenic. They thought the concept of the Premium Raw Frozen Food having humanised names such as Chicken Casserole and Beef Hot Pot was a great idea, and it has proven to be a hit with their canine customers – as well as the new eco-packaging!

Their best selling range is the Premium Raw Frozen Food, particularly the Chicken Casserole flavour, closely followed by the Cold Pressed Food in Grass -fed Lamb.

Their store is in Rosyth, Fife, and is conveniently located right next to the M90, not far from Edinburgh, the capital of bonnie Scotland. As well as having an online store selling premium specialist dog products, K9 Active also stock a wide range of dog food in their store and deliver to selected KY and EH postcodes.

You can also walk in any time to get a harness fitting or weigh your dog on the shop’s scales to keep track of their weight. You can even check out their doggie deli bar to choose your own pick & mix of 100% natural dog treats!

If you have any questions about what food, treats or products would be best for your dog, the friendly staff at K9 Active are always there to help you find what’s right for you. You will usually find their resident dog Skye in the shop, guiding customers towards her favourite part of the store (the doggie deli bar) and even pinching a jumbo smokie or two!
